Gurgaon suffers setback in the real estate arena for the first time

This was a favorite place for MNCs to settle down and it was driving the property prices out here like anything but the growth has been arrested and a slump is on the rise. I am talking about none other than Gurgaon in India which saw a number of inetrnational call centers set up their shops. The slump in this area is being attributed to the integrated master plan for Gurgoan and Manesar. Gurgoan is now far away from the property boom. This is for the first time that this area is witnessing a downslide in property prices.

A number of people are opting out of under construction and high end residential market with a downslide as high as ten percent being witnessed. With around 33,726 hectares included under the new master plan, a number of areas have been added which has resulted in an oversupply of land. With stagnation settling in the downslide is expected to increase further and the property horse will have to rest for a while before it again joins the boom race.

Cheap kidney drugs launched in India

Kidney ailments which are emerging as a silent killer in India has led Biocon which is one of the largest biotechnology company in the country to launch a series of cheap drugs for treatment of kidney ailments. The drugs were unveiled on World Kidney Day and the firm has plans of selling them in a number of countries worldwide at a price which is thirty percent lesser as compared to the drugs sold by Novartis.

Dubbed as the silent killer of the twenty first century, around 100,000 people in India suffer from renal failure. The one way to avoid catching this disease is to go for regular preventive check ups. Subsequent to being launched in India these drugs would be marketed in Latin America and Persian Gulf region. Some of the companies may even be offered a license for manufacturing these drugs.

Probably this drug may prove to be effective in controlling this disease which is taking the shape of an epidemic.

Society Benefits From Plant Biotechnology

Canadian farmers are planting GM corn, canola and soyabeans and they have already started reaping the benefits of plant biotechnology. This has not only helped the farmers in controlling erosion but also reducing green house gas emission.

These are the words of Jeff Hoiness, a canola farmer:

I’m improving the structure of my soil with zero tillage. I’m using less pesticides. It’s better for the environment. We have less soil erosion than we did in the past. I mean, that’s got to be good for a lot of other people than just myself. We’ve increased the wildlife habitat. We’re using less fuel per acre, so that means less green house gas emission. The things that I’m doing on our farm that I feel are of benefit with the biotechnology are a benefit to all of society.

Certainly plant biotechnology is helping not only the farmers but also contributing to the society.
